Product Application

Pearl Pool Finish is a machine blended pool finish of high quality which contains selected river aggregate, white portland cement, and additives to enhance strength, bonding, and curing. Pearl finish will yield a hard, long-lasting, stain resistant surface that is unique and versatile in appearance.

Surface Preparation
Roughening the pool base cement surface provides a good basis for the mechanical bonding of the base to the pearl finish. Previously finished surfaces can be made suitable for re-finishing by hydro-blasting or by applying acid. Existing plaster should be chipped away immediately below the tile line for 2" - 4", and around return outlets, pool lights and main drains.

Mixing Procedure
For best results use of a standard mixing machine is recommended. Use only clean potable water; WATER MUST BE CAREFULLY MEASURED FOR EACH BATCH - UTILIZATION OF A MEASURING PAIL IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. DO NOT ADD WATER DIRECTLY TO MIXING MACHINE FROM A HOSE. Add Pearl Finish to water. Approximately 1.5 - 1.75 gallons of clean potable water can be used to bring the mix to a lump-free consistency. Allow the material to mix for 10 - 12 minutes to provide best workability. Addition of other materials is not necessary; Pearl Finish is a complete product.

Application
Apply Pearl Finish over a cement base that has been dried for a minimum of 24 hours. The pool's walls and floor must be evenly sprayed with water before application to reduce suction. This allows adequate absorption to occur to enable Pearl Finish to dry in a natural manner. Pearl Finish should be applied to a uniform thickness of 0.5". A water spray is applied when the surface has hardened sufficiently to prevent river aggregate "wash-out"; premature washing can lead to major aggregate loss. The aggregate is uniformly exposed throughout the pool and allowed to cure overnight. Fogging is recommended during the curing process. The pool is then filled with water.

Coverage
Florida Pearl Pool Finish will yield approximately 18 feet per 80 pound bag of material.

Packaging
Florida Pearl Pool Finish is packaged in 80 lb. heavy-duty, 3-ply, moisture resistant bags.

Precautions to be observed
This product is portland cement based and can cause skin or eye irritation. Any skin or eye contact with this product should be immediately washed with plenty of fresh water. Wearing of a respirator is recommended when using this product.

• Florida Pearl Pool Finish is formulated with washed river aggregate.
• Color variation within aggregate deposits is inherent.
• Therefore, the aggregate color in Florida Pearl Finish may vary from previously obtained material or samples.
